Life.
Death.
One of the greatest truths I have learned in medicine is that death is normal.
Society operates from the standpoint that if we do “everything possible” death will not come.
But death comes to everyone.
And sometimes death is ugly, very ugly.
I have come to the realization that we do a disservice to society by trying to fight death as long as possible.
Another lesson of medicine is that just because you can do something doesn’t mean that you should.
I rather we enjoy each day fully than prolong our suffering when the end is near.
After-all, from the minute of our birth we each start on our path towards death.
There’s no escaping that.
Death.
